Gladesmore Community School is committed to safeguarding.  Our weekly PSHE lessons have a strong focus on consent and educating pupils about sexual harassment.  As part of our PSHE curriculum, we invited Everyone’s Invited to speak to all the pupils in Year 10 about ‘Tackling rape culture’.  

The informative presentation helped pupils to understand how gender expectations, media presentations and pornography contributed to a culture which is damaging to everyone.  The speakers illustrated how thoughtless banter can be harmful and how widespread some misconceptions are.  Afterwards Year 10 commented that the presentation had ‘made them think’ and shifted their perspectives.
