Universities
We are keen to encourage as many pupils as possible to apply to university as we recognise the benefits in terms of career pathways and also life enrichment.
For many years, we have developing university links and taking pupils on visits.
- St Catherine's College, Oxford: This partnership was developed with the input of David Lammy, MP and has been supported financially by the Moody’s Corporation. The partnership is growing. Currently, we offer annual trips to visit the college. During this visit, our pupils are able to meet current pupils and some academics.
- Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford: The school is developing a link with this college. The college came to deliver a careers presentation to all the pupils in Year 9 building pupil awareness of academic pathways.
- UCL: The school has a longstanding relationship with the Institute of Education and groups of pupils from Gladesmore Community School visit the central London site contributing to the ITT programme.
- Royal Holloway: The PSHE team are developing a relationship with Royal Holloway in which Royal Holloway deliver a range of remote workshops to pupils in Years 7-11.
Furthermore, as our partnerships with our 6th Forms and Colleges grow, so do opportunities for students to learn more about University. Recently, students in Year 11 had the opportunity to visit the Cavendish Laboratory at the University of Cambridge as part of their programme with LAE Tottenham.
